               INT. SHERMAN-WILSON REAL ESTATE OFFICE - DAY

               JACK (27) -- think "Lemmon" -- stumbles into a tidy real
               estate office, short of breath and clearly at the end of his
               rope.

               HANS (42) -- think "Gruber" -- sits behind the desk,
               perturbed and oozing evil.

                                   JACK
                         I can't sell the Allenwood house. 

                                   HANS
                         Developed a conscience, have we? 
                         Pity.

                                   JACK
                         It's -- there's -- 

               Jack can't bring himself to say "There's a ghost."

                                   HANS
                         This property requires the most
                         trustworthy agent I have.

                                   JACK
                         But someone else can sell --

                                   HANS
                         This discussion is over.

                                   JACK
                         Tiffany.  Make Tiffany do it. 
                         She's determined.

                                   HANS
                         But you like Tiffany.

               Jack says nothing, but it's clearly true.

                                   HANS
                         You must want out badly.  Fine. 
                         We'll put the girl on it.

                                   JACK
                         Really?

               Hans walks over, puts an arm on Jack's shoulder, and smiles
               ominously.

                                   HANS
                         Of course!  I only ask one paltry
                         thing in return.

                                   JACK
                         Anything.

                                   HANS
                         

                                   JACK
                         What?

                                   HANS
                         

               

                                   JACK
                         But -- why?

                                   HANS
                         Just making sure we know who's the
                         boss of whom.
